Africa Continued

We were privileged to partner with the "Southern Sudan Education Project," to deliver 300 pack backs filled with school supplies to rural villages located in the Bor region of Southern Sudan. We later donated funds to SSEP, both from the Alliance and from the sale of Joan Hecht's book, The Journey of the Lost Boys, to help with funding the construction of the Yomchiir primary school by SSEP and former Utah Lost boy, Abraham Akeech, who returned to South Sudan to give back to his homeland by building the Yomchiir Primary School. Abraham is currently employed and residing in Southern Sudan with his wife (pictured).

We partnered with Servants Heart Ministries providing textbooks for approximately 1000 students attending two schools at Daga Post in Southern Sudan. Some of these students, from seven different regions, travel up to two hours each day to attend classes. We are so thankful to play a small part in ensuring that all people of Southern Sudan will one day receive an education.
