Raising Awareness About The Lost Boys and Others From the South of Sudan

In an effort to create awareness for the plight of the South Sudanese people, our founder and President, Joan Hecht, and numerous Lost Boys, have spoken at schools, Churches, synagogues, and businesses around the country, helping to educate, impact and inspire audiences members to make a difference in the world. Volunteers from the Alliance have also participated in numerous volunteer projects/programs in the community and speak regularly with local and international media, government officials and community leaders to rally support and attention for the needs of the South Sudanese people. Due to heavy school, work and family schedules, volunteer efforts are limited and only offered (as available) in the Jacksonville area. However, if you'd like to book Ms. Hecht, (also an award winning author for her book, The Journey of the Lost Boys) for a presentation at your school or event, please view her contact info on the \"Events\" page. She (and as available, Lost Boys) offer a compelling and educational presentation for which she/they have received rave reviews from audiences across the country.

Following presentations by Ms. Hecht and local Lost Boys, students have been inspried to organize various projects and fund raisers to support efforts by the Alliance, such as walks, bake sales, etc. Students from Stetson University made a video about the Alliance and local Lost Boys that was featured at an anti-genocide convention in Washington, DC.. Students at Palmer Academy in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl., wrote a letter to former, President George Bush JR. asking him to help the people of Southern Sudan. Students in Puerto Rico raised $50,000 for water in South Sudan. See our \"How To Help\" page for additional ways that you can help!
