By partnering with numerous organizations on the ground in Southern Sudan the Alliance for the Lost Boys of Sudan is able to provide goats for women at risk, and their children, in various regions throughout Southern Sudan. Women participating in this program are encouraged to meet on a regular basis to discuss personal and community concerns and to gain support for those concerns. They are also encouraged to learn life skills such as embroidery, soap making, farming, etc. (The G.O.A.T.S. Program is an on-going program sponsored by Alliance for the Lost Boys of Sudan).
Through your donation of $60.00 you can give a goat to a needy widow or woman and her children in Southern Sudan.
1. Goats provide milk for sustainability and require very little to survive.
2. Goat milk can be used to make butter and cheese.
3. Goats help to produce fertilizer for crops.
4. Goats can produce 2-3 offspring each year, which can be sold to purchase food, clothing or medical treatment for women at risk and their children.
5. Goats are drought hardy and eat almost anything.
6. Milk and cheese produced by goats can be sold for profit
