In an effort to help the lost boys blend into our community, we initially established a mentoring program, enabling members of our community to interact with these young men on a personal basis.

We encouraged Church groups and business organizations to adopt the Lost Boys individually, or in groups, in an effort to include them in everyday activities such as family dinners in their homes, trips to the movie, or an afternoon football game.

The feeling of being part of a family unit proved very healing to these young men, as they were deprived of that experience for most of their lives. Most have since adapted to their new lives in America and are now successfully forming these relationships on their own without assistance from this program
