In April of 2004, Jacksonville welcomed its first Lost Girl!
Abiei and William met at Church in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Ten days after they were married, William's name was called for resettlement in America. Abei's father, who originally refused to let William go to America after marrying his daughter, changed his mind, offering his blessings and instructing William to never forget his daughter. No one dreamed it would be three years later before she would join him.
