Manyok Aleer developed a cataract leaving him legally blind in his right eye. He had just graduated from Job Corp and had started a new job as an auto mechanic, without insurance. When Dr. Barnhorst heard about Manyok, he generously adjusted the price of the surgery enabling Manyok to be able to afford treatment and the Alliance assisted in paying his deductibles.
Dr. Barnhorst and Manyok Aleer
Two years later he developed a cataract in his left eye, causing similar vision loss. Thankfully, he had insurance by that time, but no extra funds for deductibles and other uncovered costs. Once again Dr. Barnhorst adjusted his fee and the Alliance covered his expensive deductibles. Now Manyok not only has 20/20 vision, but he also has a new friend - Dr. Barnhorst.
